S&P/TSX – Consumer Sectors

For this week’s content analysis (see attached Download ), we will be looking at overall consumer sectors (staples + discretionary) in Canada. Many investors have been turning to  these sectors since the end of 2014, largely because of advantages garnered from lower energy prices and a weaker Canadian dollar. StockPointer’s EVA analysis also points in this direction; the consumer discretionary and consumer staples sectors comprise 27% of our Canadian Top-100 EVA index, and it’s that weighting which we follow in our Canadian model portfolio.

To help spur some inspiration, we’ve built in a single portfolio, using the SPScore and PFScan tools, all of the consumer sector companies in the S&P/TSX Composite with an SPScore above 60%.

Please find attached the annotated SPScore table and the group’s PFScan.  Download
