Institutional Edition – Release Notes 20231103.6

Summary of our progress

As of the current date, we are pleased to report that approximately 90% of our users can now replicate their Canadian or U.S. investment strategies using our platform. We have identified only two key features that remain to be implemented:

  1. Pooled Strategies: This feature is nearly ready for testing and will soon be available for use.
  2. Adding Multiple Instances of the Same Field: We are actively exploring options to enable users to include the same field multiple times in our user interface.

For U.S. investment strategies, the absence of S&P weights and indicators, such as S&P 500 weights, is a significant gap. To address this, we are collaborating with Morningstar to integrate this information into our data feed.

If you require any additional features to effectively replicate the buy/sell rules of your strategy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your account executive.

Production Overview:

This section highlights the updates implemented in our Inovestor For Advisors platform on November 1st, 2023. The changes apply to the institutional license, with one addition extending to the professional license.

  1. Models (Professional and Institutional License):
    • We’ve introduced an export function for key tabs, including qualifying, holdings, and transaction tabs, based on requests from many advisors using the models section.
    • The ability to include and exclude portfolios for buy/sell rules has been added.
  2. Buy/Sell Lists:
    • Color coding for ranks is now available, addressing a technical issue that was temporarily deferred. Please note that we are actively addressing errors in the sell list.
  3. Variable Definitions and Formulas:
    • Users can now access the full definition and formula of a variable by clicking on it in the field selector, which enhances transparency.
    • For variables calculated from other variables, you can click on the components used in a formula to view their respective definitions and formulas, making navigation more intuitive.
  4. Data – U.S. Estimates & Russell Indices:
    • U.S. estimates were incorporated outside of this release around October 18.
    • Russell indices were also introduced around October 30.

Other Fixes and Enhancements:

  • Bug: A specific issue with the field selector for U.S. fields has been resolved.
  • Bug: Custom variables using industry median value as the formula type are now functioning correctly.
  • Bug: The availability of between 300 and 500 U.S. variables has been restored.
  • Enhancement: In the sell rule screen, we have inverted the “less than” and “greater than” columns to align with CPMS interface.
  • Enhancement: We have updated and modified the Canadian categories in the field selector.

Testing Environment Overview:

Our initial release of the backtest engine took place on November 3rd. This version facilitates the generation of transactions, monthly portfolios, and monthly sector allocation weights.

Comprehensive reviews are now crucial to validate the transactions, as they serve as the cornerstone for subsequent processes. This marks a critical stage with inherent risks, and we will provide a follow-up in the upcoming release notes.

We maintain high confidence that we will deliver a stable and efficient backtest engine by December 31, 2023. Clients can expect to conduct their backtests on our platform several weeks before the CPMS platform is discontinued. We will continue to enhance accuracy and provide key date updates as we perform the necessary checks.
