SPfilter Dividends & High Economic Value Canada

In today’s content analysis we will be covering the results provided by a pre-built SPFilter, one of ten integrated filters available for all StockPointer users. We’ll be looking at the “Dividend + High Economic Value” filter, which you can find in the SPFilter drop-down menu on the home page.

Unsurprisingly, several principal Canadian financial institutions appear in our filter results, as do BCE (BCE) and Telus (T), representing the Telecommunications sector. Rogers Communications (RCI.B) ‘misses the call’ only because its share price movement (“Price Var. 12M”) has been negative over the past 12 months.

Glentel (GLN), a company registering amongst these results for the past several months, saw its share price spike over 137% in the last 3 months following the announcement of its acquisition by BCE.

Evertz Technologies Ltd (ET) and Logistec Corp (LGT.B) are two companies which, though relatively less followed than the rest of the group, still offer some very interesting indicators. In fact, ET and LGT.B generated shareholder wealth at the highest rate in the group over the past 12 months, realizing Economic Performance Indexes (EPI) of 3.1 and 3.3 respectively, against the group average of 2.3. Worth noting: ET’s stated dividend yield (12.01%) includes a special dividend paid in December 2013. Without accounting for that special dividend, the yield would still be around 4.3%.
