In the fourth quarter of 2025, the S&P/TSX rose the highest by 6.3%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose by 2.7%. The MCSI ACWI ex USA saw the increase of 5.1% compared to the other two.
At the end of the 12-month period ending December 31, the S&P/TSX had an incredible performance of 31.7%. The S&P 500 grew by 17.9%, while the MSCI ACWI ex USA experienced the highest increase of 33.1%.
The NQICAT reported a quarterly performance increase of 7%, and on an annual basis, it grew by 13.2%.
The top- performing TSX sectors for the fourth quarter included Materials, which was up by 11.9%, Financials, which was up by 10.5% and Consumer Discretionary, which was up by 10.3%
Most sectors growth was positive, with Telecom and Industrials being the only two exceptions, as both saw a decline of -1.7% each. IT remained mostly flat during fourth quarter with a return of 0.7%.
The leading quarterly performers in NQICAT was DPM Metals Inc, which reported a notable increase of 37.7%, followed by K92 Mining Inc with a growth of 34.9%, and Hammond Power Solutions Inc. with a growth of 29.4%.
On the other hand, the underperformers in NQICAT included goeasy Ltd., which reported a decline of -23.4%, First Service Corp., which decreased by -19.5%, and Constellation Software Inc., which saw a drop of -12.6%.
