The month of March was fraught with volatility. The widening war in the Middle East ran up Brent crude oil prices to a high well above US$100 per barrel.<\/p>\n

And indeed, the top performers were commodity-focused funds. The SavvyLong Geared Crude Oil ETF\u00a0(OILU-T)\u00a0posted a 140.13% price return for a single month. MegaShort (-3X) Canadian Gold Miners Daily Leveraged Alternative ETF\u00a0(CGMD-T)\u00a0had a 72.67% percentage increase. Rounding out the top three based on price alone was SavvyLong (2X) Cdn Natural Resources ETF\u00a0(CNQU-T)\u00a0with a return of 34.21%.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Canadian ETF marketplace received 31 new funds in the month of March.<\/p>\n

BMO ETFs<\/strong><\/p>\n

BMO Asset Management Inc. launched the BMO Market+ ETF Strategies suite of funds, which is designed to provide broad equity exposure across Canadian, U.S. and global markets, with active management expertise by using a rules-based investment approach designed to help improve risk-adjusted returns over time. This series was launched with seven funds which include:<\/p>\n

BMO Market+ Canadian Equity ETF (ZMPC-NE)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each fund aims to target market-like returns with beta of approximately 1 and will apply modest sector tilts to manage risk and stay close to the broad market. The Plus aspect of the strategy is designed to seek broad market outperformance over time through stock selection based on systematic alpha analysis grounded in fundamentals.<\/p>\n

Guardian ETFs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Guardian Capital introduced three new funds for its investors. The Guardian Canadian Equity Income Fund (GCEI-T)<\/strong> invests primarily in Canadina dividend-paying equity securities, income trust units and other flow-through securities to achieve its objective of high stable income. based on established mutual fund strategies. The Guardian Fundamental Global Equity Fund (GFGE-T)<\/strong> focuses on investments in high quality equity or equity-related securities of issuers throughout the world. The Humilis North American Tactical Equity Fund (HBTA-T)<\/strong> primarily invests in large cap U.S. equity securities and select Canadian companies. The Humilis North American Dividend Growth ETF (HBDV-T)<\/strong> invests in dividend-paying securities of U.S. and Canadian companies. Brompton Funds launched two additional funds its suite of offerings. The Brompton Global Cash Flow Kings ETF\u00a0(KNGG-T)\u00a0<\/strong>is designed to provide investors with long-term capital appreciation through exposure to global companies with high Free Cash Flow Yields. This cost-effective fund is currently available at 0% management fee at the ETF level. The Brompton Global Equity\u00a0HighPay\u00a0ETF\u00a0(PAYG-T)\u00a0<\/strong>is designed to provide investors with twice a month high income and long-term capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio of leading global companies.<\/p>\n

CIBC ETFs<\/strong><\/p>\n

CIBC Asset Management Inc. added three new funds to its Avantis CIBC ETFs series. Developed in partnership with Avantis Investors, the Avantis CIBC Global Small Cap Value ETF (CASV-T)<\/strong> investing primarily in equity securities of small capitalization companies across eligible developed markets, selected using factors that consider value and profitability characteristics. The Avantis CIBC All-Equity Asset Allocation ETF (CAGE-T)<\/strong> aims to provide exposure to equity securities across developed and emerging markets. Finally, the Avantis CIBC Emerging Markets Equity ETF (CAEM-T)<\/strong> concentrates on Canadian equity securities across a broad range of sectors and market capitalizations.<\/p>\n

Middlefield ETFs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Middlefield Limited launched the ETF versions of two existing mutual funds. The Middlefield Income Plus Class (MIPC-T)<\/strong> aims to provide a stable level of monthly income by managing a portfolio of dividend-paying companies. The Middlefield ActivEnergy Dividend Class (MAEC-T)<\/strong> is an actively managed, diversified fund comprised primarily of dividend-paying companies in the energy production, services and infrastructure industries.<\/p>\n

Other launches<\/strong><\/p>\n

1832 Asset Management L.P. launched the Dynamic Active Multi-Crypto ETF (DXMC-T)<\/strong>, a fund that seeks to provide exposure to the performance of an actively managed selection of crypto assets.<\/p>\n

Evolve Funds Group Inc. listed the Evolve All-in-One UltraYield ETF (EASY-T)<\/strong> on the TSX as an all-in-one solution for exposure to leading global companies while providing investors with high monthly cash flow through an active covered call strategy and modest leverage.<\/p>\n

Manulife Investment unveiled the Manulife CQS Multi Asset Credit Fund (MMAC-T)<\/strong>, which seeks to generate income and capital growth by investing in credit-related investments of global issuers.<\/p>\n

Lightwater Partners Ltd. launched their first ETF, the All-Canadian Oil & Gas ETF (COIL-T)<\/strong>. The fund offers exposure to the Canadian Mid-Cap oil & gas companies across production, exploration, development, transportation, and related energy-service businesses.<\/p>\n

Vanguard Investments Canada Inc. added the Vanguard U.S. High Dividend Yield Index ETF (VUDV-T)<\/strong>. The fund is designed to provide exposure to U.S. companies with above-average dividend yields.<\/p>\n

Lastly, Global X listed the Global X NYSE 100 Index ETF (NYSX-T, NYSX-U-T)<\/strong> on the TSX. This fund seeks to replicate the performance of an index that represents 100 highly-capitalized U.S. listed and actively traded technology and tech-enabled growth companies across multiple sectors (currently, the NYSE 100 Index).<\/p>\n
